Four Days!

Over the past few days all I can be is Giddy to my Bones :).  We are going to be seeing our family in four days:

FoUr Days.....
fOuR days :)
FOUR dAys!!

You have to think/say each of those sentences with four deeper more drawn out voices :).  It will make you feel better about life.

I just want to remind everyone that we haven't seen our families in about 5 months.  We should calculate this in doggy years for my own benefit (because it def feels like that some of the time).  5 months (half a year) x 7 is 4.2 years, so basically Seth and I haven't seen our families in over 4 years.  Now you can understand why I am just Giddy to my Bones to see those wonderful good looking families of ours :).

Now that I've gotten that out of the way I figured I would make a few confessions in this blog:

1.  Since I have somewhat moved up in the job world, I have to dress up in Big Girl clothes everyday :).  I totally enjoy waking up-showering-getting ready-picking out my clothes-drinking a cup of coffee every morning with the most good looking man I know-eating breakfast with that man-and reading/studying the Bible with that man.  I'm not sure if many of you know this (and this is definitely against some girl code somewhere) but I do not have a full length mirror.

I know this is tragic.

Normally I mentally pick my outfit out the night before.  I get dressed and will examine my top, face, and hair in my half length dresser mirror.  I then proceed to figure out what shoes to wear with this specific outfit.  If I struggle with this section I will present the outfit to my fashionable husband for suggestions.  He usually swiftly looks at me and states, "Pick whatever is more comfortable".  Usually I have to ask several times for him to look at my outfit for approval and assist in the decision of what shoes to wear.

Overall I end up approving my own outfit and picking out my own shoes and he always tells me I made a good choice and he approves.  :)

I have recently decided a full length mirror is a necessity and will have to be purchased SOON!

2.  This is somewhat pertaining to the previous confession.  As many of you know I'm not the most fashioniske girl.  I try to stay with what the fashion is, but in a sense I have my own style.  Mainly that style is COMFORT.  Usually I dress up for Seth's sake, so other folks don't think he married a hideous slob.

Last year when Seth and I arrived in Utah I realized that it got pretty dang cold-it snowed pretty often-and it was very gloomy for a few winter months.  Naturally since it snowed a lot my pant legs would get wet and I would freeze because it was so cold.  I was against the whole cutesy dress and went straight for warmth and comfort.  I layered a lot and looked chubby.  All the other Utah female natives wore cute tops-dresses-skirts-boots-leggings and acted like it wasn't even the least bit cold out.  I despised these girls and continued with my layers and warm clothes :).  I was totally against leggings.

This year I seem to be turning a corner.  I try to dress a little cuter and have actually tried the whole legging deal.  Yes, me with my Vic legs tried the leggings.  I'm not even going to lie-I liked them.  I may even be in the market for purchasing more.  They were very comfortable and i would enjoy wearing them again.

3.  I lOvE China (as many of you know).  I love napkins.  I love dishes.  I so enjoy going into a home that has the table set.  I love having my table set when we have people over for dinner.  I so enjoy china of all kinds.  I just fancy it :).  My mother (who is a very intelligent woman) told me she would recommend registering for Christmas china-or she wished she had done that.  I didn't listen and registered for beautiful everyday china.  Now, I want Christmas/Winter china :).  Mother's know best huh?   Here are a few patterns I like. I haven't picked one out yet-any advice or comments from you folks would be lovely.

How beautiful!

Also-Very Beautiful.

I think I am more into the Winter type china at this point in my life.  I think Mrs. Cynthia must have influenced that :).  She has beautiful winter china and can use it for ALL the cold months (which are a lot of months here in Utah)!  :).

4.  Stockings are something that are on the top of my list of enjoyment during the holidays.  I absolutely LOVE the look of stockings-love the personalization  (if that is even a word) of them.  I believe the small gifts they are stuffed with are probably the most useful and best gifts possible.  My mom hung stockings up for us this year and I am soooooo pumped about seeing the stockings at our Sineath home and our Cook home!

5.  I'm not completely done with my Christmas shopping.  We still have 2 1/2 people to purchase for.  Seth got an early Christmas gift from my parents (a rucksack) which he was ecstatic about.  We are assuming we will be able to put all our gifts, my clothes, and Seth's clothes in our carry on luggage and the rucksack.  I am assuming that the gifts and ALL my clothes will go in the luggage and Seth will have the rucksack for his stuff.  :).

That's about all I want to go over at the moment.  Hope everyone has a good weekend!  Only four days until Seth and I are living it up with our families in the SouthLand :)!

OH PS-Thank you Grandmother and Granddad Cook for our Magazine subscription and our Delicious Grapefruit :)!  So ready to see you guys.

Temple Square Lights

This past Saturday Seth and I went down to Salt Lake with all our Carolina buddies~Will, Elizabeth, Joe, Gina and met some new Carolina folks Bobby and Lindsey.  We've been told the past two years that The Christmas lights on Temple Square were a MUST see while we were here.  Somehow last year came and went and we didn't make the time, so this year we were all set on going for this MUST see event.  We went down pretty early to get some shopping out of the way (which I wasn't able to find a thing), went to this delicis Thaifoone Restaurant, rode the public transportation (TRAX), and saw the lights on Temple Square.

SSSoooo many people!

Salt Lake was packed out, bone chilling cold, beautiful, and entertaining :).  We enjoyed our time but I wouldn't tell anyone else it was a MUST see event-maybe during the weekday it's better, but there were too many people for my liking.

Last weekend Seth went to a men's retreat in Southern Utah (Zion area) and I went with some girl friends to Park City for some Christmas shopping.  We both had a good time with the folks we were with.  Obviously Seth and I survived our second and third nights apart during our marriage-but it was a pretty tough time-especially for poor Seth :).  Anyhow, I got a good bit of Christmas shopping done-but we still have a few folks that need to be completed between now and Christmas.  While Seth and Jonathan were in Zion they were able to play a round of golf in a beautiful golf course that Seth thoroughly enjoyed.  Luckily he took some pretty pictures.

The days are flying by for us-but fortunately they are ticking down in a pleasant way.  In 9 days we will be cuddling up with my obese Troupster (maybe-if he can fit in the bed with us.  by the looks of it he'll have to sleep on the floor) in the LoveLy Southland :).

Seth and I have been playing Settler's of Catan every chance we get and are still loving it.  Ya'll folks who aren't aware of it should definitely look into the game and finding a couple to play with-consistently :).

Hope you all have a wonderful week and we are SOOO looking forward to seeing all our Southern family and friends SOOOOOONN!

9 Days :)
