Spring Update.

Wow!

I didn't realize it has been so long since I've blogged!  The sad part is I haven't been doing that well with taking pictures of our life this last little bit.  But I'll try to do a quick recap of what's been going on in the Cook Household.

Firstly, our weather has been a little ridiculous.  We've had warm beautiful summer like days and then the next morning we'll wake up to cold gloomy snowy days.  It has been consistently changing like this for the past few weeks.  I enjoy the warm beautiful days, but those random cold gloomy snowy days can shove it!  When we do get a warm day we try to stay out and soak up the sun as much as we can, but that's pretty tough to do during the week.

Seth is making progress with his thesis.  That's all we will discuss about that-he doesn't much enjoy talking about it right now.  He's definitely not a 'stress' showing person, but I can certainly read the worry and concern on his cute little face.  He is pushing to be defend by the end of June.

Hmmmmm.....

-After working out for almost a month I haven't seen any changes.  I will credit this to the fact that when I work out I tend to crave sweets.  I justify eating the sweets simply because I've worked out.  AhhhhHaaaa--we've found the culprit.  One day after working out I was of course craving something sweet and decided to go to the store and purchase an entire box of doughnuts and I had to eat at least one on the way home :).  Seth was a bit surprised when he walked in.  I am now determined and have realized my downfall, and I'm working out longer and trying to say no to the sweets.

-I got pulled over the other day.  I was driving down the road and the cop pulled out and signaled me down.  I pulled into a parking lot and then realized that I was in the handicap parking, so I immediately put the car in drive and tried to get myself out of this illegal parking. The cop honked on his horn, threw his arm out the window, and yelled STOP.  "Oh my word, I've made this cop angry before he's even come out of the car to talk to me!"  I of course used my Southern manners, "No sir, I don't know why you pulled me over"  "No sir, I didn't realize this was a 25 and I was going 37"  "I'm so sorry sir I thought this was 40 mph"  The cop proceeded to ask me where I was from with that accent of mine and of course we all know what I told him.  "My that is a long way from home.  I'll let you go this time with just a warning, but remember most of these residential areas are only 25 mph"  "Yes sir".  Whew-was I relieved!

-There is a possibility that Seth and I will be moving around the first of May to another apartment in Logan (details of this event will come at a later date).

-Seth is having his wisdom teeth taken out on Friday.  Friday the 13th.  Strangely enough I have yet to take care of Seth for any reason during our entire relationship (dating and marriage-5 years).  He is not a complainer, and he is not a sickling.  I don't recall one time that I've seen him sick, so this will be a new part of our relationship.  Me taking care and pampering him all weekend.  Wish me luck :).

-Seth and I will be traveling to Canada in June.  He has a conference up there, and lucky me I get to join him.  His conference lasts almost a week.  We will drive up in one day-be at the conference for a week-take off to venture around Banff National Park-drive down in one day.  I've only heard good things about where we are going for his conference and about Banff.

This is just a little glimpse-I've heard it is gorgeous and we both are very much looking forward to seeing it.

-Backtracking a bit.  Zach and Karla are coming to visit us in May for a week!  We are so stinking excited about seeing these two and hugging necks of families :).  We are still working out our to do plans, but we will have it all ready by the time they get here.

Karla and Zach and I have no idea about the dog.

Seth and I participated in a program called 'Bountiful Baskets' last week.  We went on Saturday to pick up all our goodies and man were we blown away.  We were pretty excited and raved about all we got pretty much all day long.  Bountiful Baskets is a volunteer organization that you pay 15 bucks and then receive two baskets of produce and vegetables (50/50).  They try to get everything as cheap as they can and as local as they can.  WE've been pretty skeptical of it in the past, but we finally broke down and played the game.  We are very happy we participated this go around.

I'm sure you can see what all we got but I'll share anyways.

We got lettuce, sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, tomatoes, asparagus, broccoli, zucchini, apples, oranges, bananas, pineapple, and grapefruit!  Man oh man-15 bucks!

The pretty Easter flowers.

Our first dinner from the baskets.  We had steaks, brussel sprouts, and sweet potatoes.  It was very tasty.

One happy fella.

Well it is getting close to this ol girl's bedtime, so I'll be off of here now.  Just realizing how long it has been since I've blogged and wanted to get somewhat of an update out.  Hope all is well with you guys, and good rest of the week to you!

Here is a picture of our Easter outfits.  We had a difficult time taking this picture because most of them turned out blurry, but it was exciting that I could wear a dress on Easter!  It wasn't new, but hey it was still a dress!
