Yesterday, Seth and I went on a hike. It is called the Crimson trail-and is considered a difficult hike. In my case it was done with extreme difficulty :). It is basically a straight up 1825 ft incline that has you huffing-puffing-sweating-and provides the temptation of voluntarily jumping off the side to the bottom. Kidding of course. But it is a pretty tough hike. I also want to mention for my own pride-that Seth had slight difficulty as well with his lungs hiking up the trail. After about 30-45 minutes of hiking straight up we finally reached the top and began to walk across what is called the 'china wall'.

Moving along with my hiking story. Above you can blatantly see that Seth and I were whooped! We hike the trail (which took about 2 hours) and excitedly reach the bottom of the trail's other side. Normally you would walk what is called the River Trail back to your car and be done with your Sunday afternoon hike. Upon arrival of the bottom we noticed the river is rushing rapidly and this river has flooded the trail. We turned around and tried to go another direction to get to the road-to walk from the road to our car. Again we see the river blocking our way and begin to come to the realization that we have NO way to go. We had to hike back up 1825 ft, around the 'china wall', and down 1825 ft-another 2 hours. We both became each others cheerleader and slowly reached the top of the china wall. :). It was fun to see how we used our energy to support each other when we both knew how pooped the other was. Seth began to tell me, "Watch your steps carefully. Don't let fatigue set in and slip up on your footing." It reminded me of my Dad and his worrysome ways-I thought it was cute and wanted to brag on my hubs :).
Here are a few pictures from our hike.
The left is pretty flowers that were all over the trails/hills-and the right picture is the raging river that blocked our path :).
My cute hubs :).
We recently were given a giftcard to REI and decided to purchase a camelback that I am wearing. It was nice and helps us to ration our water intake better. We both enjoyed having it and it was fun to use it rather than stop open the water bottles, etc.
Stopping for a little break-after eating an apple and some yummy trailmix.
How beautiful it was! We definitely enjoyed getting out and being whooped by being active-rather than sitting indoors! Our trip to the South continues to close in on us and we are so excited! Hope you all have a wonderful week. :)
