First let us go ahead and update the countdown for everyone to know:
13 days until we are in the South
15 days until we are all together at the beach with my family
I will have to admit to being a tad nervous about the heat and humidity-but it will definitely be worth it to be with my family :).
This past week we have had Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Cynthia here visiting with Seth and I! What fun did we have! We have some gracious and hospitable friends that let Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Cynthia stay in their home and nothing during their visit could have gone BETTER :). After driving 2 full days and half of a day they crossed the threshold of our teeny but homey apartment! The weather was ideal, the mountains were gorgeous, Sunsets were breathtaking, and all of us Cook's weren't looking to bad ourselves :).
On the Way to the Teton's
Monday we were going to head to the Teton's after lunch and Seth got a phone call from some of his favorite people-Bud and Angela Darby saying they were heading from the Teton's and were going to drive through our little town and wanted to stop by and visit. Seth was sooo excited about this and the timing couldn't have been better. We packed up and headed out to meet them at Bear Lake for raspberry icecream on our way to the Teton's. It was very neat to have all of us together and even more so with Seth's parents here!
What a pleasant Surprise :).
The Darby's didn't have perfect weather while they visited the parks-but fortunately for us it was lovely and delightful (In Mrs. Cynthia's words!). As I've said before it just couldn't have gotten any better!
How cute are these fellas? Pretty darn cute I'd say.
I'm realizing more and more that these two are very alike. Mr. Jimmy will say something or make some type of movement and it will be what I've seen Seth do at some point of time or other. We keep telling each other that he will turn into Mr. Jimmy and I'll turn into my lovely mother :). Would you say we are lucky or should we get out while we can? Hahahahahha. I'm literally laughing out loud. Kidding of course about getting out of it!
We went to eat at Dornan's while in the Teton's-They cooked the food in these big cast iron pots over a fire and we ate outside with the Teton's just simply hanging out beside us. They had some type of honky tonk or something and volunteer's would get up and sing or play an instrument-entertaining.
While driving to our destination we say this fella just mosing around. It was fun to see and we figured the way he was acting he wanted his picture taken. My father probably sees this and starts worrying-but just so you know we were in the car while the pictures were taken :).
So many elk just running around out in this meadow-So fun to see.
Sorry there are so many Huge pictures-but it was beautiful and trying to let you get in on what we were able to see :).
We hiked to this Waterfall in The Teton's near Jenny Lake. It was a pretty hike-and the waterfall was amazing. There was even snow still on the ground right before we got to the waterfall.
Another large one for you.
Wednesday we went shopping around town and Mrs. Cynthia and I bought loads of fun stuff. We went to the DI (which is similar to a GoodWill but bigger)-went and met a friend for coffee and crepes-went to The Oasis bookstore (a local Christian bookstore) and racked up on wonderful books! I should have taken a picture of all the books we left out of there with! Seth and his dad played golf while we shopped and I think we both enjoyed our alone time with Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Cynthia.
We also went Antiquing and I discovered some beautiful napkins that I just had to buy! I think these napkins are such eye candy and can't wait to use them on our next visitors-any takers? :) We also found another orange Tupperware container that matches our other Tupperware-it is just a different shape. I also purchased a long dress that I have been searching for-I plan to wear it at the beach and have my mother just rave about how beautiful I am in it :).
Seth made his no Knead Pot Bread (the one that crackles when you take it out of the oven). He always listens to it crackle and Mrs. Cynthia got a chance to listen also.
Leaving Day :(. We enjoyed you guys visiting and thankful for ya'll coming out West! Come back so you can get that Alzheimer's Again :)-Plus you never got to try the Cinnamon Rolls from Great Harvest. Guess you'll just have to plan another trip!
Seth and I are trying to get through the next two weeks before we excitedly come South! Pray for us and safe travels to see our families! :).
The Cook's :).
