Busy Bees

Hmmmm....

Let's see what's been going on in our little Cook lives....

Well first off.  Life seems to be speeding by so quickly!  Seth and I aren't even sure where all the time is going, but we can tell you that it is flying by.  We finally have all of OUR things moved into our rental home, just don't quite have everything settled where we want yet.  The previous owners have moved all their belongings out and we have moved all our belongings in.  We have PLENTY of space now :).

You see, Seth and I have been married for about 2 1/2 years.  As soon as we were married, we moved to Utah with very few items.  Basically all we had was a futon, washer/dryer, dining room table, one bedroom suite, a few side tables, kitchen items, and a desk.  We were moving into a 550 sq ft apt, so even though we had few items it filled up that small space perfectly.  Seth and I upgraded apartments while in Utah and moved into a 600 sq ft apt.  In that apartment we acquired a table for our TV and chairs for our dining room table. Again, everything fit into that 600 sq ft apt nicely.  We have now moved into a 2400 sq ft home where we could fit all of our belongings into the master bedroom :).  Although we have received a few more items: a dining room table, china cabinet, and another bed we still do not own enough furniture to fill up this HUGE home we are now renting. So, if you visit, please keep this little story in mind while you are thinking in your head 'what a large home for this measly little couple and their measly belongings' :).

Two fun Stories:

About two weeks ago my mom came to visit us.  She had a few fun issues arise during her visit :).  After getting lost and being given the wrong directions by me, she finally makes it to our home.  I make her eat Kale, which she doesn't seem to enjoy, referring to it as 'plate decoration'.  She despised my hair dryer b/c it took too long to dry hair (which in really did!) and so she bought me a new hair dryer.  The new hair dryer must have a pretty hefty voltage, since it keeps knocking the power off in each room that I use it in :).  She somehow gets locked in the guest room she was staying in and after making much racket (that Seth and I thought was just her walking around) she called me on my cell phone to come and get her out.  She then preceded to take a shower where the shower head fell on her during said shower :).  After having such a good first visit with us, I sure hopes she is willing to come back for another visit!!

Last night we encountered our first black snack.  Seth walks in and says, "Hey Erika, why would someone put a fake snake on our porch?"  I looked at him and said, "I doubt anyone would do that.  Why?"  He replies with, "There is a fake snake out there right now."  So, like anyone else I said let's go take a look and turn the porch light on while we look.  As we turn on the light and open the door I see the black 'fake' snake that Seth was referring to, but I see the snake move a bit.  "That is not a fake snake Seth. That is a real snake. What made you think it was fake?"  Seth replies with "Well, I walked onto the porch and stepped over it.  I kicked it and it didn't move, so I was like Wheewwwww, that isn't a real snake."  Hmmmm....interesting reasoning huh?

The 'fake' snake.

While Seth has been working hard and getting settled into his job in Florence, I have been watching this cute little fella.

This little guy is one of the best babies I've ever dealt with.  He's cute, sweet, and he just wants to look at you and coo and smile.  He'll make ya want one of your own (as long as they are as good as he is!) :).

Now we always have to have a picture of the little fella that I just plain ol adore.  He is just such a handsome baby.  I always try to say he has his auntie e's eyes (even though his daddio may have the same eyes) they are mine :).

Last weekend, Seth and I went to Joanna and Greenwood.  While staying in Joanna we got to watch Mackay :).  Mackay sure did love spending time with his auntie and uncle!  Momma and I took Mackay to the Joanna festival with Mrs. Tammy and her grandson on Saturday.

:).

Seth's brother Zach knows some people who know some people who also know some people :). Zach was able to get two tickets to the Masters for Sunday.  He asked Seth to go, and boy was Seth a giddy man.  He was beyond ecstatic and thoroughly enjoyed himself (even in the rain)!  Seth and Zach both loved that day and are more than ready to return any and every year to the Masters.

I use to think these bros looked similar, but not seeing it much anymore! Right before heading out to enjoy their day.

Seth's family will be in town this weekend and us girls will be running in a 5k race.  I'm looking forward to being with Mrs. Cynthia and Emily, but not much looking forward to this running deal.  Deep down I despise running, but know that is a good workout overall.  I enjoy eating so I have to do something to stay somewhat in shape and running is the easiest for me at the moment.  I haven't kept my running up very well since we've moved; only running sporadically when I get a little bit of time.  We'll see how I make it on Saturday :).

A lovely picture at the park.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

The Cook's :)

Seth and I on one of our last evenings in Logan with some friends.  I stole this from ya Elizabeth :).  Miss you all!
