--So Long, Farewell :).--

So Long, Farewell-we hate for you to go and leave this pretty sight :).  So Long, Farewell I leave and heave a sigh and say Goodbye.

Olivia and Brian week is Officially over.  Don't think I like the thought of the next time I see these folks will be in 5ish months-but I do like the thought of seeing them and the rest of my clan at the BeAcH for a full wEeK in 5ish months :).  I think the whole family LOVES our annual beach trips-and the four of us chatted about past trips and began to plan fun ideas for this years trip.  My one goal is to get my tan on-and be darker than Olivia :).  Another goal is for Seth and I to be able to stay up late with the dock folks--and maybe Cara and Steve should try and set this goal too :).  I know Seth will be able to hang-If I can-though-is another story.  I may be one of those wives who won't allow there hubbys to stay up late??  Kidding-even so I think Seth will adopt my Daddy's excuses of 'I have to stay up with Darren-Eason-John-Brian to make sure they are behaving and not getting out of hand'.  Now that I'm a domesticated woman-I wonder if I will be labeled like those 'older' women in my family who have cooking and cleaning up duty.  Not sure how I feel about this yet-but----Ahhhh-I just can't wait-I love our beach trips!  I may even get crazy with it and start a countdown soon :)-anywho back to Olivia and Brian week.

Seth and I confirmed that this past week was a success-for us at least-we have reason to believe that Olivia and Brian would confirm the week as a success also.

Luckily we had perfect weather while they visited.  It wasn't TOO cold (but it was colder then they were use to!) and it was mostly clear BEA-UUU-tiful days.

Such an Amazing Sight-Never gets Old (to muah at least!)

One of a kind SunSet

Traveling home-Colors were such a Sight

A view from Campus.

We took our guest to Hardware Ranch to visit all the elk.  One fun fact I'd like to share with everyone is there were about 500 elk-and they feed each elk about 8-10 lbs of alfalfa per elk per day.  Wow!  And they grow all the alfalfa on there own meadows!  Interesting stuff.

We celebrated the SuperBowl with Olivia-Brian-Gina-Joe and had a great PaR-TaY!  Not much of the game was watched-but we definitely enjoyed stuffing our faces until it was uncomfortable and playing CatchPhrase-(which will be brought to the beach for dock fun).

We also went to two different Natural hot springs.  One was very remote in Idaho where we enjoyed the front desk lady-Olivia especially.  I will let her explain the rest of the story to those of you who would like to know-she enjoys telling it :).  The other was down the road from where we live.

Olivia and Brian went and explored our hometown for a few days-they now have been to more places in one week than Seth and I have been to in almost 6 months!  I took them on a short tour of campus where we took more beautiful pictures :).

So funny story-They have this 'true blue aggie' deal here at Utah State.  If you strip buck naked and leap on top of this bull/aggie (whatever this thing is with horns) and 'ride/sit' on it-then you my friend get to be a 'TRUE BLUE AGGIE'.  Of course our bud Brian here wanted to become a 'TRUE BLUE AGGIE' and he did my friends.  He did.  Brian left Utah this morning as a 'TRUE BLUE AGGIE'.  Olivia wasn't to pleased with him about this though.

I just told a fib.  He did no such thing-but there are folks that are considered to be true blue aggie's.  And we have shaken hands with those that are such a thing.

A view of the Island and Mountains.

Olivia's cool Panoramic shot-AWESOME camera.

One of my BeSt friends :).  See my reason to get my tan on? I'm pale....

LOVED having family come visit-it was such a fun time showing them where we live and what we get to experience daily out here!  Thanks for coming guys!

Valentine's Day :).
Seth and I have already celebrated our V-Day!  While traveling home from Salt Lake this morning I decided we should go ahead and exchange gifts.  Why wait-if you know me I LOVE surprises-but hate not knowing what they are and also can't stand waiting(even though I had a good inkling of what I was getting).  Seth agreed-what else could the poor guy do?  I got him a big bamboo cutting board and a dirty clothes basket-don't let this guy fool you he thoroughly enjoyed both gifts :).  Moreso the cutting board-but we needed a new dirty clothes basket-so I thought I'd buy it and give as a gift instead of just buying it straight out.  Don't you fellas out there wish you were married to me now ??  Kidding!  He got me exactly what I wanted!! :). Facial/Massage-and I have already called and made my appointment for Monday the 14th.  We are also going out to eat to Hamilton's one day next week for Valentine's + our 6 months of marital bliss :).  Hope you all have a great weekend & Valentine's Day.

February will be and has been a good month!

The Cook's :)

  1. I first would like to say that since you are now a domestic woman you should have no problem being part of the cooking/cleaning crew. Secondly I know that the "allowing your husband out on the dock" was not intended for me. LOL!!! Steve can hang with you youngins' all he wants. We would love to come and hang out on the dock with you guys but remember there is also always interesting conversation going on at the beachfront house as well. Plus I would like for you to keep up with my chilins' for a whole day and then see how late you can stay up :) Love you!!!
